The purpose of the PHPsuexec Forum

Whether you are on a server that recently had phpsuexec implemented or you are a new customer becoming familiar with this, please post questions about any problems you have with applications on your site. Most problems you'll have will be related to permissions on certain directories or files.

Hopefully we can archive here the most common issues that arise so that users in the future can easily find the solution. Some threads may be a little repetitive but hopefully users can find answers easier that way.

If you wish to make a "Tips Thread" about a certain application, please feel free. Make sure to use the lightbulb icon when you create it. That way we all can quickly determine which threads are about a certain program.

Here are our general phpsuexec tips:

1. All directories except public_html and php files should have ownership and group set as the user and NOT nobody or root.

Note: For public_html, permissions = 750, user set as the cpanel user, and group set as nobody as in normal servers

2. All directories except public_html should have a permission of 755

3. All php files should have a permission of 644

4. No php_value entries should be given in the .htaccess file. All such entries can be given on a php.ini file instead ..

I have a website that uses photopost gallery. It has created some folders with 777 permissions. I have tried to change to 755 using File manager in Control panel, my FTP program and a cgi script I found in another part of Surmunity. All methods fail. How do I get control of the permissions on these folders?

You can file a ticket to support and have them give your account ownership of the files.

I'm trying to use cron to run a php script. But, I'm getting a Permission denied error. Anyone know how to fix this? Yes it is the correct file.
