HTTP Authentication with PHPsuexec

I'm going to be implementing a quick and dirty authentication deally for a friend of mine, who is hosting under my reseller's plan. I was going to use PHP's really simple method of doing this, but I'm wondering if PHPsuexec affects this at all. Thanks for any info.

For now, Pass46 doesn't have phpsuexec though.. http://pass46.dizinc.com/~phpinfot/whoami.php
Only Pass48+ do...

During the rest of the month and throughout April, the rest of the older shared servers are getting it.. then we start the implementation on the reseller servers starting with Pass47 and going down.

From what I read, HTTP authentication will not work under phpsuexec. But as Kayla stated, for the time being, your server is not running with phpsuexec enabled.

I understand. I was just thinking that I may have to do twice the work. Because this is for a friend, there isn't money involved, which limits my enthusiasm for having to redo this a couple of month down the road.

I don't think it will work, that's true.

Unfortunately, PHP-based HTTP Authentication can only be used when PHP is run as a module (compiled into Apache). PHP based HTTP Authentication will no longer work under phpSuexec. Use HTTP Authentication (using .htpasswd files or the Cpanel "Password Protect Directories" option) which will still continue to work with phpSuexec.

PHP-based HTTP Authentication no longer works (good, it was crap)
The $PATH_INFO variable within PHP does not function (good, it's a security hole)
The PHP function getallheaders() does not work. (damn! gonna have to rewrite PDA!) - http://corz.org/devblog/
