1.3 is feature complete IB 1, there are still plenty of forums out there on 1.3 which seem to be running ok, it has vulnerabilities but its like a previous version of say modernbill, just because they are doing version 5 now people who have version 4 dont want/have to upgrade if it involves cost, if the guy doesnt want to pay for one and is getting along ok then good for him, as far as we know 1.3 doesnt have any MAJOR bugs, that could cause something like that so in answer to the original topic i is more likely to be something he has done, your best to speak to him and ask him if he made any changes in the last few days.

Not wanting an argument here, only trying to help and trying to sort out the optimum solution based on the circumstances (not forking out alot of dosh or having to change completely)

The solution is never to use one because it has exploits but others are still using it. The fact that it's an old version that can be exploited means anyone on that server could suffer the consequences.
