Hi all, sorry for the late reply.
Ping has been down since approximately 6:30am EST. We were in the process of rebooting it and had file system errors. The disk check took quite a bit of time, and it was determined that the hard drive had failed (according to the data center). We had to install a new drive and reinstall all of the system and cpanel files, and are currently working to restore user accounts. After some review, it was found that the original hard drive is indeed operational, just that the first partition became faulty. The partition with user files is intact and fine. We are just waiting on it to copy over all of the /home files to the new drive now. The admin working on this has given me an ETA of about one hour with it about 50% complete at this time. Please stand by. 2/9/04 8:03pm EST: The server is now back up and all user files have been copied over. Everything should be intact and operating fine now. Please review your sites and if you notice an errors or problems, email support surpasshosting.com immediately with the details. Thanks for your patience.

Ping move is complete.
Now comes the part where all of you who are using custom DNS example: ns1.YourDomainHere.com ns2.YourDomainHere.com How do I know if I am using custom DNS you ask? if you are using the following DNS for your domains dns11.dizinc.com dns12.dizinc.com Then you are NOT using custom DNS and you have nothing to worry about as we have done the work. If you are using custom DNS you MUST go to your registrar and update your ns1 and ns2 IP ASAP to the following ns1. 66.195.17.1 ns2. 66.195.17.2 All files have been moved Your new WHM login is as follows: http://66.194.239.1:2086/ Cpanel: http://66.194.239.1:2082/ Please DO NOT use 216.67.252.177 anymore to add accounts only use it if you need to get something from the old server. We will leave it up for 2 weeks just to be safe. You may ftp to the IP 66.194.239.1 Please update this info to your clients accordingly Please do not use the IP 216.67.252.177 for any updating or creating new accounts or they will not work. http://66.194.239.1/~CpanelUsernameHere/ will also show the site on the new server. Your cooperation is really appreciated here, this server upgrade is well worth the wait I will assure you any questions reply back to this email but please read this email and attempt to work on it. please post your questions issues below |

Please read the information below carefully if you are located on this server.
The old IP is 66.194.239.1 The new IP is 72.29.74.235 IF YOU USE CUSTOM DNS, YOU *MUST* UPDATE YOUR DNS IPs. THIS IS MANDATORY. ns1 >> 72.29.74.236 ns2 >> 72.29.74.237 If you go to your site and you see a cPanel page that reads "No website configured at this address" that means your local computer is trying to load your site on the old IP. Simply restart your PC, modem or router so it can release it from cache. P.S. If you are using an SSL or have a static IP email e surpasshosting.com with your domain name so we can assign you a new static IP and make sure your SSL is working correctly. |

ping will have a 2 hour downtime window between
6am and 8am Sunday Jan 22 2006 EST. We will be doing some movement of racks within the datacenter. We picked this time which has shown to be the least traffic on the server. We apologize for any inconvenience. |
