Question About colocation

Hello,
I am back Can anyone explain me why colocation bandwidth costs more then dedicated server bandwidth? Possible to send to surpass datacenter my own server and replace it with a "dedicated" server? I know that it sounds crazy and it sounds like the colocation, but i do not see any logic reason why colocation bandwidth cost more, then for dedicated servers... Question is : Why???

It does not cost more or less. Colocation is you have your own server at the data center and your paying for the bandwidth to host your server. A dedicated is their box and your renting it as well as paying for bandwidth.

They share a datacenter. They do have different staff, etc...

Not sure of the physical address, but I do know it's in Orlando, Flordia.

I would suggest that Surpasshosting to have a phone support, this is one of their weaknesses. can you imagine sending your colo server to their datacenter and not knowing where and where your server is at that point. It is sufferring communication by emailing back and forth or even put up a thread. I believe that they are doing great job on the uptime of the server but this is tough when ones want to colo their server without talking on the phone.

I believe this will answer one of your questions:

As for the lack of phone support, I'm sure that is one of the reasons that their prices are as good as they are. If they had to pay people to answer the phones day and night, their pay would be added to the cost of the hosting.

I've had really good response times from them via the helpdesk and have never really found myself in a position where I felt that I needed to pick up the phone.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.
