I first started with semi-dedicated at 250gb bandwidth. I was told my site could growth with no problems in the future. Now my site was shut down and I was force to upgrade to dedicated server, If I wanted to keep my site up. My site has not growth since I started that much. I never when over my bandwidth. What makes a site take to much memory? since before, I had no problem with semi-dedicated server, and like I said, my site as not growth that much.

I was supposed to get the 1.8, dual hardrive/with backup but, I got somethin less, but, I am paying the price of the 1.8. I am waiting for a reply from Miguel. I wanted to get the p4 package but, there is a setup fee, wish I can't affort at the moment, even though E-man gave me a discount on the setup fee.

Thank you,

I've got a discount on the setup fee too and what I undestood: if I upgrade my dedi server to another processor I won't pay setup fee. This price is charged the first time you sign a dedi package.

That's what I understood.

I think, I was not charge the setup fee on my prior semi-dedicated server.

What is WHM CP? Do I have to have it? What is it for? Is it a required option for dedicated server to run?

Thank you,

WHM is a program that controlls the accounts and a lot of your server via the web. cPanel accounts are made by WHM. YOu do not have to have it but it is very helpful if you are using your server to host a lot of accounts.

What do you mean by "if you are using your server to host a lot of accounts."? Do you mean if I am adding other websites besides my own? If I just have one website do I need WHM?

Thank you,

If you're using your dedi to resell space (essentially forming your own small hosting company) then WHM is useful. If you aren't, and if you're just running one website, then no, you don't need WHM.

Unless you're very good with the command line, yes, you'll need CPANEL/WHM. Of course you can always set up your server with apache, etc. on your own, but doing things like setting up e-mail accounts manually gets really old after a while...

That's right.. you don't have to pay setup fee, I upgraded my celeron 1.8 to a P4 2.4 and 1GB of ram. Things are much better now server loads never reached .5 as far as I know. I wished Surpass would upgrade the CPUs on its packages, P4 2.4 to P4 2.8 and dual xeon 3.2 like many other companies
