about dedi

when you buy a dedi, you gotta pay for cpanel/whm ??

what exactly are you paying for? what do you get if you dont pay for them?

isnt there a one-off fee instead of a monthly one? how would i manage my site if i dont pay for it?

Moving to the dedicated board....

You do need to pay for cpanel/whm. The will give you cPanel and WHM. Without paying for it, you do not get it.

The one time fee for cPanel from cpanel.net is $1250.00. A one year fee is $450.00. Surpass offers it at $30 a month.

cPanel/WHM is a addon to your server for $30/month. You can find demos of cPanel and WHM (WebHost Manager) on the Surpass Dedicated page (near bottom).

cPanel/WHM will help you manage and control domains, accounts, provide hosting for others, manage some parts of server, etc. And, you are paying for a cPanel/WHM license, meaning you can actually setup not only cPanels, but WHMs as well. About how to manage your server without this license, I am not sure about that.

EDIT: If you do know about the cPanel/WHM thing ... then ignore me explaning it to you ha.

If you are planning on hosting people, you'll definetly want to use cp/whm. There are alternatives out there such as Plesk and Ensim, but in my experience, they are both the devil.

yes, cpanel/WHM in my opinion are the best control panels ever made so far for hosting or just managing server activities, domains, and websites, or both.

About Webmin, never ued it, so maybe I can quiet say that cPanel/WHM is the best until I try out a webmin ...
