Planning on Buying a Dedicated, But Need some Q&A

Well I've been thinking on buying a dedicated server for a while now. And now that I got a good job, I'm starting to look more into the plans. But I'm not to sure on how the plans work. I'm not much of a server 'geek' or that knows much, I just need to know a few questions.

1. What is the difference between "Storage: Single 80GB Hard Drive" and "Storage: Dual 80GB Hard Drive w/Backups"
2. We have to pay $30/mo to get cpanel? (what do we use if we don't )

3. What is the difference between (below) - We pay less for the highest setup fee? This is good for the 2+ year or so right?
$00.00 Setup Fee $90.00 Monthly
$99.00 Setup Fee $80.00 Monthly
$150.00 Setup Fee $70.00 Monthly

4. From (Dedicated Server Perfomance Questions....) a post by Emmanuel CTO, Surpass Hosting (http://www.surmunity.com/showpost.ph...88&postcount=2) read this
Quote:
Since you are an exsisting client I can waive the $99 setup fee so you can get that pricing structure.
Does that apply to existing clients?

5. How fast are the connections? A soon-to-be hostee asked this; "hopefully like a 100mbit one where it can handle like lots of connections." Are the dedicated servers like that?

X. I may have more questions, but at the moment this are it.

I currently have 2 resellers but I will still like to keep those two. And buy the dedicated server.

Thank you in advance.

1. If you get dual hard drives, your data is stored on both of them, so if one dies, you're still okay.

2. You could use another program besides cPanel (e.g. Webmin) or administer your server the geek way, by logging in and typing commands.

3. The different prices depend on how long you expect to keep the dedicated server; if you know you'll want it for 2+ years the $70 monthly option works out to be the best.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong; this is just based on reading old posts.

4. I am pretty sure it is on a case by case basis. I had two Shared accounts when I got a dedicated and paid the normal amount for the setup fee.

5. The connection speed is can be upgraded to 100Mbps (standard is 10Mbps I am pretty sure) but you wont really see a difference unless you are running apps that chew a lot of bandwidth per second.

Well you are upgrading the NIC. You either get 10Mbps or 100Mbps. I would contact sales for the specifics.

Unless you really, really need it, i'd say you'd be happy with 10MBit
