Lightbulb What do you guys recommend?

OK So I purchased a dedi from Surpass the other week and yesterday afternoon I finally launched my website. My membership has shot up to already over 600 members, and there's an average of about 200 online at any moment during 8am to 8pm period. I'm noticing slowed performance already.

I'm currently operating a 1.7 Ghz Xeon, with 512 MB RAM... now I'm expecting this 200 online figure to shoot up within another week or two's time, so what do you think would be my most optimal upgrade. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

What is your website? I think we all need to see what kind of application you are running and get a feel for what's going on.

Wow this is really impressive then. But the load on your server is 15. It should ideally be below 2, and if it was then it wouldn't load slowly like it is right now.

Thats a lot of users at one time for sure

I suggest really a P4 1gb ram

and as it grows later down the road you can upgrade it to a Dual Xeon Cpu with hyperthreading will be 4cpus and 2gb ram.

You will not need to move any files or re upload anything in any upgrade because we take the drives from your current server, put them on the new server and it will be online with the new cpu and ram

If you are interested send me an email e[at]surpasshosting.com I can coordinate this for you.

Ram must be essential to something like this. Mike runs xMike on a couple Opteron machines, but his ram is 1gig in one machine and 2gig in the other.

How much a month will this set up cost? You've given me a good suggestion, I'm just curious the monthly price. Well at least in comparison to the $100 a month I'm paying right now.

We can add another 512MB Ram to make it 1gb ram
for $150.00 ONE TIME fee

and then the cpu upgrade is simply $20.00 /month more

so it would bring your monthly to only $120.00 /month
