Has anyone installed PEAR on their server?

Is it safe to install this? Any advice, etc ...

Pear is installed on the surpass's shared and reseller servers; I've had no problem using PEAR. I do not have a dedicated, so I can't give advice on how to do it, just confirming that it's safe to do.

sure i'd like to know how to install it and not to kill something like apache or something similar

did you have to install php on the server or did it come with apache and php?

If php is on it, can you post a phpinfo page?

php was installed by surpass. im just afraid of not ruining apache so then people's websites go down

Create a phpinfo page (just a blank page with a the phpinfo() command) and search for the word pear on that page. Most likely PEAR is already installed.
