What is this process running?

I cannot load my site right now and was wondering what this process is I see running.

Code:
/usr/lib/rpm/rpmq -q MySQL-devel
Surpass support said they would install something for me but I thought the program was small. I couldn't get to my site all day today and now I see this running using up 99.7% of the cpu resources. Should I kill it? What is this?

I'm new to owning a dedi

Thanks

That does look like something is being installed or modified.

Check the man pages for rpmq -q and see exactly what it is doing. That looks like there is a query running to determine the version of MySQL-devel you have running.

If it keeps on running so hot you might think about killing it if you have nothing using MySQL now.

Be careful.

What did your admin say about it?

I am a supervisor on his site too and I must say it is happening again. The server is very slow! Also GD support isn't enabled nor installed is there anyway surpass can install that for him.

BTW gogo Im kcsportsguy if you didn't realize this.

We desperately need to get this fixed:

/usr/sbin/mysqld --basedir=/ --datadir=/var/lib/mysql --user=mysql --pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/server1.anything4free.com.pid --skip-locking

I'm running about 30 instances of this, and it's taking up 90% of ram usage, and completely crashing the site from doing anything...anyone know what that process is?

Since you have a dedi, you should have direct methods of contact with admins that can work on your server for you.

Call or email one of the admins to fix it for you.
