Exclamation mail problems

i can't seem to send out emails at all.

on my ipb forum i've tried both phpmail() and smtp with my account setup through cpanel.. but no mail ever gets sent.

exim stated that when i tried to send mail from the forum, it said gmail.com is an unroutable domain.

have i not set something up right, or does something need configuring so that phpmail can be used?

dedicated server btw, so it's not a shared account.

i thought i was having the same problem. i sent out an email to my clients via the whm. well it so happens i am my own biggest client and i didnt recieve those mails for up to 15 hours. i emailed support and they said

Quote:
1. It seems that the mail queue was quite empty. I tried to force manual delivery of the message and discovered that you have a redirect setup incorrectly. Please be sure to include the full namedomain.com in your redirects
.

i thought that i had entered something wrong in my root email but it appears normal. i check my main emails and there are no redirects on those.

i wonder if your mail is just slow in transfer as well

My clients, on my dedicated server, that use their domain for SMTP service are also reporting mail being returned with a "unrouteable mail domain" message. I get the "Mail Routing Error" for my own gmail.com account when using the mail troubleshooter in WHM.

I also filed a helpdesk ticket.

Support has repaired my issue with a change to resolve.conf. Thanks...

My question now is why was the configuration that the WHM resolver wizzard suggested, allowed to pose no problems for the last month and suddenly need adjustment?

Kayla, could we, as dedicated clients, perhaps have a place apart from the general dedicated forum, to deal with general (setup) configuration issues that are not really documented, that we all need to be aware?

Maybe something similar to the new phpsuexec forum.
