Running PHP4 and PHP5

I am interested in running a couple of scripts that require the use of PHP5, however I am not ready to personally give up PHP4, especially since there are so many other scripts that may not function with PHP5 still.

Anyways, I am aware Surpass is making both available on their Shared, and im just wondering how they intend to make this available, and how I might.

WHM allows you to compile Apache with PHP4 and/or PHP5, im just wondering if its as simple as selecting both?

I think that all files with a .php extension will be run as php 4, all with a .php5 extension will be php 5 (Not sure, but I think it was announced here somewhere)

Yeah, but I think that is a special setup on the server, as some other people I've asked said it is very hard to do (apparently they havent tried it but meh)

Ask support possibly.

ya, these are dedicated servers i am talking about.

And i have an idea as far as how to do it, and i dont feel like paying someone from support to do it lol... but ive got a fresh server i still have to play with before it goes into a production environment, so ill give it a shot on that first. Ill update this thread when i get around to that.

I think support should od this for free for you if you ask them. It is part of the 100% managed. But if you want to play around your self, more power to you
