OK taking the VPS plunge!

I hope I'm making the right move with this right now.

But with the encouragement I got here and some explanation form a friend locally who maintains there VPS at work I think I understand some of the things that had me concerned.

Just place my VPS1 order. And with Eman helping in this as well as knowing I can lean on many of you I think I'll get through this with mild bruising. lol

Now just waiting for the confirmation and welcome email and then I'll send my information of upgrade to Surpass. I guess I need to do here as I have told others for such things. Just take one step at a time and remember to breath.

Wish me luck and all that.

OK folks start tossing more of that luck up!

Been over a hour and no welcome email or any email yet.

When I upgraded from Standard to OC5 it was almost instant

I hope it is just this lag some of us are seeing slowing things. But this is not a good start after all my concerns.

Skipdawg, there's a 24 hour activation period on regular accounts (shared and reseller). I would say VPS is at least that, considering all the things involved. Have some patience, and when you haven't heard anything in 2 days, then you can start to panic (well, we'd prefer you didn't panic exactly). And I'm assuming you've gotten the payment confirmation, just not the activation email (aka, welcome email like you said).

OK so the welcome is also the activation email too. OK!
But no confirmation email at all either. Nothing. 3 hours is coming up.
So no I am really feeling something is wrong. Now with what morph3ous has posted too.

I hope that everything is ok with both of our account setups. I'm starting to get the idea that maybe one of the scripts is broken that handles these things. Either way, I would love for someone from the company to give us some feedback.

Well to be safe I kept the payment confirmation page up. I do that just to be safe with all online orders and keep the page up till I get a payment confirmation email. I think I'll do a page copy to be safe also. Just so I have the order placed proof if something went wrong today.
