Want to update my CP stuff. Were are they hiding the info on VPS server names and IP's? Did a search and don't see anything relative to it?

If you mean which VPS machine you are on - you will need to either reply to an eman email you have or file a ticket - I had to ask him which one was mine as it does not show on the welcome letter (eman said he was going to add it but must not have happened yet).

OK will do.

I think someone is trying to mess with my sanity what is left of it now. All was fine and now the 2 forums ( SGC forum and my test forum) are showing only this error for the page. What the heck!!!

Connection Problems

Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
Plus I got a email from Nobody alerting me to this problem?

It's David's turn to watch the gremlins. I'll make sure he didn't send them out to play.

It does sound like you've got some issues with DNS still propagating. I haven't had that problem since switching to eNom, but I do remember some really funky stuff in the past.

If you want to check and double check your settings as things get weird, go for it, but don't start removing hair for another day or 2. If it really is DNS issues, you won't fix anything, and you won't need a comb either.

If it starts getting the best of you, PM me, and I'll see if I can lend you a hand.

Now, got to go check on the gremlins.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Skipdawg: have you tried clearing your DNS cache on your PC....

From a cmd line type: ipconfig /flushdns

Then perhaps delete your internet temp files and cookies

Open a new browser then see if you get the same thing.

While it's most likely an external DNS issue - it would not hurt to make sure your PC is clean.

Hey Skipdawg,

I see that by getting an email from nobody, you don't have phpSuExec activated. Your concerns about that were avoided and no doubt that saved some hair for you!

Yea tried that with both computers. I have 2 sitting here. Separate connections but tried that. But could not see the same affecting both anyway but tried. No change.

Good idea of course though.

Yea once I learn much more about it and can handle all the issues it may bring up I may use it. Maybe.

But I have had some folks tell me to avoid it like the plague too.
