Exclamation Site/Server loading slow.

Hi,

I'm really getting frustrated with the speed of my server. During peak hours (11am-5pm), it goes really slow. And every time I check the server status, it says "httpd // failed" What exactly is that?

I already upgraded like 4x with surpass, but the problems keep on coming.
Does anyone have any tips on how my site can load faster?

Here is my server info:

Unmetered Bandwidth:
- Intel Dual Xeon 2.8 GHZ 1MB Cache
- 25 mpbs
- I'm also paying for extra RAM, 1024MB

here is the link to my blog: http://concreteloop.com/gossip

any help would be great.

I think it is your apache which is installed in a wrong way, the server has to be reconfigured, also does it give any wrong logs? I would say that your services are outbalanced/wrongly configured

Should I say that in a ticket to Surpass. Like ask them to reconfigure the apache?

Whell i'm not sure if it is the problem, you could tell them that it might be an option, or to reconfigure the services, so it will be more load effective.

Also you should check out your OWN scripting, as you say that it only happens in peak hours, which could mean that your website is scripted in an inefficient way, which eats your serverload.

Your site is actually a little slow right now, it's 6:30 PM here. It seems like all the text loads fine and that the photos seem to drag in a bit.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure the scripts are fine, and I have a bunch of RAM (because I know I use images), so I don't know what to do.

This looks like a question for bigjohn or fern. They seem to be pretty good at this kind of thing. Perhaps they can drop by and leave some suggestions. What kind of traffic do you have coming to your site?

I get an average of 20-30,000 visitors a day.
