Accelerators?

Anyone run any php accelerators on their VPS? Does VPS come with any software installed anyways in the first place?

I just read that accelerators may lower loads and increase execution time and such. Just curious. I doubt its recommended for VPS tho.

I've looked into it a little but not much for don't have the need now. But there are a few options out there. Others may know the details.

This is one I have looked at that seems to be very popular now. http://eaccelerator.net

Could come in handy if you have allot of active php scripts running with allot of activity like forums, galleries and such.

And the VPS dose have the cPanel and WHM control panels with all their goodies if that is what you were asking about as far as "software installed".

You may find this informative also. http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/PHP_c...d_optimization

Not 100% sure but I think Zend Optimizer is on all the VPS servers. It is on mine.

I ask because my site experience major CPU load spikes during the day even at 4am in the morning when I dont see any visitors on the forums or nothing in logs. I would check to see if its me by disabling or cutting off contact of everything SQL changing info on conf.php of most scripts. I would basically have my forum not connect to SQL and change directory names and I would still see things like

Server Load 16.89 (4 cpus)

Still troubleshooting on my part and everytime I send a ticket in CPU loads ends up being normal so not much help there.
