Skimmed through the charts in Munin last night. There I can see a few spikes in areas but nothing that would seem to be a major effect on me right now at least but will keep a eye on it as the sites grow.

Ok, I figured out my issue...the problem for me was the Net::Server perl module wasn't installed.

Got it via cpan and did a service munin-node restart and it's currently collecting data. Doesn't appear to be resource intensive yet.

Decided to remove it also. Just uses to many resources for what is is and dose. It was staying at about 9.95% on CPU resources from Thursday night the 15th of June so I'd dare say it had probably been close to that the whole time.

Just as a follow-up, I've been running munin for about 10 days now and haven't seen any spikes related to this application.

I did uninstall and reinstall (which fetches the latest release from the source site) so I don't know if that made a difference or not, but it's been running flawlessly here. I intend to keep it running.

Server monitor

Slightly unrelated but I have been using http://www.zabbix.com/ on my VPS for about a few weeks now and it works a charm.

Zabbix is based on a client/server architecture. I've got a linux box here that connects to my VPS every few minutes and collects stats. This has been working great and it does not affect my server at all.

Zabbix looks good. If I ever get around to loading a linux on my other box here I may have to check it out.

Are you running a windows server??

anyways, while the server is linux only, it looks like they offer a Windows client that can access it, so you dont need to be running linux at home.

Yea I saw that Geoff but it likely works and plays nicer on linux. I plan to drop a linux on my other box with a duel boot of WinXP/Linux later just trying to decide what flavor I want to test drive this next time.

But that is on a back burner till August maybe September.
