DNS www?
Hey, I just moved from a Dedicated server to a VPS and back to the same Dedi... and somehow along the way my DNS got messed up. Now my webpage: schoolscandals.com works but www.schoolscandals.com wont. I can't remember what to do to fix this I've tried some of the options in WHM but can't seem to get it right.
Ideas?

Go down to Edit DNS Zone and select the domain you wish to modify.
In that list of enteries their should be a www, make sure that the corresponding IP address is that of the server you are on and not the VPS. if it doesnt exist, then create it. |

hmm
Okay, got that fixed. It was pointing to the wrong IP address. It was pointing to 72.29.87.254 instead of 72.29.87.15. but now when I change it back it's just going to the actual address instead of the sites specific page IE: http://72.29.87.15/~wa1ss1/

It may take 30 minutes to update. If its still not working after an hour, then im still not sure.
Actually, now that i think about it, you may need to point it to a FQDN (domain name). It may need to be something like www -> 14400 -> CNAME > FQDN and make sure all the name server IP's and what not are correct. |
