Question YUM update?

Dose anyone know how often YUM updates stuff on the VPS?
2 nights in a row I have caught it now and it is hogging some resources.

By default, I think an installation of it checks daily for updates.

it makes no sense if YUM is using 10.5% of your 'cpu' why your CPU should be maxed at 100%....

Eman? John? any Linux GURU?

I know I could maybe see 25 to 50% but that is crazy and I looked and no one was on the forums even at that time to be using those resources. And nothing else was active in the resource list.

Went on about 7 to 8 minutes from the time I spotted it. And if just looking for updated Yellow Dog is quite the resource hog!

Especially with a user load of only 5 or so.

Odd.

Now this is right at about my norm here.
0 users, load average: 0.02, 0.11, 0.09
So you can see it is very odd for it to be as high as it is showing in the image above.

Shoot I even dumped my test forum 8 days ago and just have my 3 small low use forums up with 4 static pages that combined don't even get 50 unique visitors a day. It just has no logic to it. Very small footprint!

No linux gurus. And my windows guru friends tell me someone likely hosed the VPS setup from the sound of it.

I don't know I dropped 2 tickets on it and nothing found so won't waste my time on another with this issue. If it gets to where it bugs me to much and causes problems with forum members I may just dump this whole web thing and dust off the fishing pole and camping gear.

This is a hobby for the most part and as my grandfather was fond of saying. " If it isn't fun it shouldn't be done"
