trouble uploading

i have been trying for a couple of days to upload a 40 mg wmv file to a site. i had one previous about the same size that i uploaded a few weeks back without issue.

i got it up (the file that is) last night after several resumes but by then the file was corrupt

i have tried changing ftp server softwares and the same thing happens

plenty of room on the account.

any ideas or things to check on my dedi?

thanks in advance

I also have the same problem on my dedicated account. I have tried it with firewall disabled and it still did not work.

Have you tried to enable "Passive mode" in your ftp-client?

i thought id try ... and anyways was able to upload the movie to youtubes servers without issue and rather expediently.

so that tells me there isnt any problem with my box,my security settings, the movie functional.

i did try two different ftp programs. we could blame those but i use them often and dont have issue.

so... it has to with either the size of the file, the account or ... the dedicated server? Id prefer to host and use media player for the movie rather than embedding and the movie accessible to a larger site.

Have you communicated with support at all? Explain the problem. There may be a slight misconfiguation for the FTP server. My bet is that if the problem is with the server, they can fix it.

are you running phpsuexec on your server? If so you might need a php.ini file that specifies a new upload limit in that folder...
