nameserver and ip allocation

i was trying to set up two custom nameservers on my server

i have 4 ips

xxx1
xxx2
xxx3
xxx4

xxx1 is my server

xxx2 is ns1.reseller1
xxx3 is ns2.reseller1

now i have set up

xxx4 as ns1.reseller2.com
and using that custom nameserver works for one account that i tried(has been resolving for 2 weeks now)

but shouldnt there be two ips?

my whm shows all trafiic is on xxx1

do i need to buy another ip? or can i share ips for different nameservers

thanks in advance

You should be able to share IP's for nameservers. I believe there is an option somewhere in the WHM settings to allow nameservers IP's to be shared. Not entirely sure where though.

Yea in WHM under Tweak Settings go down to System and you should see it a few down "Allow Sharing Nameserver Ips"

I believe that is for allowing the NameServer IPs to be used for "other" purpose, as opposed to being dedicated nameservers.

Like for example if you wanted one of your sites to use SSL, you require another IP address for that purpose. If you allow it, you can set up sites on the NameServer IPs LaughLaughLaugh.
