i run a few vbulletin forums, i used to email my members about updates etc.

but over the past month i try send emails they jst dont send. they say sending in the admin but then just dont send :'(

what is wrong? is there anything wrong with the server?

ok cool, there is 2 things that since my 1st ever reboot they say failed in server status

cpsrvd failed
ftpd failed

im pretty sure since they failed emails ent sent, but i cant get them to start :S

would that effect it?

i use simplemachines and i used to be able to run email via the php script but that doesnt work . i have set up email to use smtp which is a bit slower i guess. However configuring another port for mail rather than 26 i also have been able to overcome a lot of blocking from sites such as hotmail or yahoo..so all my mail gets through on messageboards.

not sure if vbulletin gives those options php script vs smtp but perhaps check it out

I am running vBulletin as well and I am also having mail issues. I'm on a dedicated server. How do I sent up a smtp mail system to work around the php mail issues.
