database on subdomain

Hey guys,

I use PLESK, and although I have web experience -- something I have yet to play with is subdomains.

I have created a sub-domain of "ads.hostname.com", where I want to install phpMyAdsNew.

In Plesk, the creation is done easy enough -- and when I login to my sub-domain via ftp, I get my main domains folder structure.

I was under the impression that I can create a sub-domain and create a new database for that sub-domain, maybe I have the wrong understanding here... but it appears my subdomain just forwards to my main domain.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but any clarification would be helpful.

Thanks,
Jamie

Sub-Domains are associated with a domain and likewise, point to a directory in the main domain. That being said, a database created for a "subdomain" is a database created at the domain level since a SubDomain is directly related to a domain.
