so here we are half way through the episode tonight and of course no one can connect to blog. Once again shit has failed and the server is up in smoke. time to start shopping the net for a new hosting provider. I have given up. I am losing people by the second. In 10 minutes I got 15 emails from people wondering what is going on. I have to say I have no clue because I don't. Peace out surpass. You blew it.

If your site was causing issues on shared, and now on dedicated, then something is going wrong directly because of your site activity.
Let's take a look at what's been happening. You said you were halfway through tonight's episode, and that's when the server failed. That is when you had the most visitors, right? If there are multiple users on your site at a given time, requesting certain scripts and processes, then all of that adds up quickly. Your site is pulling in a lot of information from outside sources, from Amazon to blog user communities. This may not be causing anything but it just shows that your site has a lot going on behind the scenes. And it's about a very popular television show and event. You can't expect the site to run as if no one's actually using it. At least if you aren't prepared for it. It looks like you'll need more memory on your server, that is all there is to it really. You don't have enough still. Getting a server upgrade is easy to do. I understand you've already had more than a few, but it doesn't seem to be over. It's either this, or there needs to be more site optimization. I personally do not see why such extreme load is occurring.

emmanuel has a valid point, wherever you go it will continue as it definately doesnt sound like the hardware, so i think its best from your point of view to see what comes of troubleshooting
