Load balancing and/or Failover
We just ordered another server with you guys and I have a couple important questions.
1.) Recently our server got overloaded and went down, we couldn't reach you guys easily. We looked in the original welcome email to see if we could find the phone support number, but it had an AIM user instead. The AIM user was not online. I guess we'll wait for the new welcome email, but I'm hoping that now that we're spending close to 400/month we can get some kind of phone support. 2.) I need a failover system in place in case our server gets overloaded. In order to do this would we need a hardware based load-balancer like a barracuda? Or is there some other way to install a fail-over between our two servers? 3.) Can you set up and NFS mount so that both servers use the same filesystem for /home ? 4.) I know that Load-Balancing also complicates things with session data sharing (I was gonna use http://sharedance.pureftpd.org/project/sharedance) and mysql connections too. Luckily for us, I've written a custom development framework that for the most part uses only session data and flat files. (http://www.devframework.com/) That being said, I know that I'll have to replicate our current mysql database... is this something you can help us with, or do I have to figure out how to do this? I'm a programmer, and usually don't handle this stuff but I can figure it out if it's not a service you offer. |

Phone support for dedicateds: Eman posted this in a nother thread: 407.756.1126 ext 4
everything else, I'm sure they can do it, but it is most likely a question for support, or if eman or one of the other guys ends up seeing this thread.
