I'm thinking of switching to a dedicated server and have some questions.

I'm thinking of switching to a dedicated server (I'm on a reseller now) and just had some questions. Ok, here goes.

When I order a dedicated server, will all the files from my reseller account be transferred over, including databases, etc. Also, are the cpanel usernames/passwords carried over as well.

The next question is, are these dedicated servers used for just web applications or can they be used for game servers, etc?

Also, is the purchasing dedicated servers the same as purchasing shared/reseller accounts or is it different or something?

I think that's all the questions I have. Hope to see some help here.

What will happen is that full cpanel backups will be moved. They include of of the files, databases, and passwords.

You can use your dedi for a game server. Surpass will not stop you. They do not provide any pre-configured setups for this which means that they will do only minimal support.

Missed your last question.

It is basically the same but takes a little longer to setup.

The kb article in my last post also covers this.

edit: and also the forum post before yours
Converting a reseller account into a dedicated one
