MySQL backing BIND, Apache, ProFTPd, etc...
I was wondering if anyone has tried to compile BIND, Apache, ProFTPd, and etc where it uses MySQL to store the information.
I've heard that there are some benefits, like no need to restart apache or bind when adding new information. So I was wondering if anyone was using it, and if so, how hard was it to setup? |

Off-topic: I haven't ever done this, but i would imagine it would destroy server performance

Apache PureFTPd ProFTPd BIND But I'm guessing is depends on the server traffic and setup... My main question though is with the FTP, can you have real server user information (like quotas and stuff) stored in the MySQL database, or can it only be used for virtual users. Is there an easier way to manage the information without having to edit the conf files by hand (and without cPanel)? |
