does openX cause high load on the server?
Hi all
since i got my server here the load never reached 1.00 it was fast and great but since i've installed openX last week i noticed that the load some times jumps to 2 and 3 and more ! today i received this auto msg .. IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email. This is cPanel stats runner on ***.org! While processing the log files for user ***, the cpu has been maxed out for more than a 6 hour period. The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of this email is 17:37:17 up 27 days, 16:25, 0 users, load average: 2.66, 3.04, 2.85 You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit /var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run /usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes).well i'm not sure if it's openX .. maybe it's a cpanel update or anything else ! i've tried to c the processes list when the load was high but i didn't c any process that takes more than 0.2% of the cpu ! so how can i know exactly the cause of the high load? i've searched here about openX and i didn't find anything about it .. thx ![]() |

What's your server's IP? I can probably locate the problematic account for you.

Looks like this is happening due to your account getting a LOT of HTTP traffic. I see no indication that the load is being caused by the new program you added to the server.

i just received the msg again !

The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of this email is 23:37:18 up 27 days, 22:25, 1 user, load average: 3.37, 3.14, 3.18 You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit /var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run /usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes). this is not comfortable :s just suddenly everything missed up btw my server is Pantium 4 2.4GHz 1GB ram .. and now only 3.6% of cpu is used ! ![]() |

I tried to log in to WHM with the information we have on file, but you changed the root password, so I can't get in to check this further... It would help if you submitted a ticket and updated the root password we have on file for you.
