One website slow, others fast

One of the websites on my dedi is going superslow (30 seconds or more, and sometimes it doesn't even load at all), while the others load fast. The website used to load fast on my shared hosting.

Now, my server was always going near and sometimes over 100% CPU usages because of mysql. I mailed surpass and they said it was the database of the website that's going slow.

This website is really a very small website with few visitors, so I don't understand how it has more mysql connections than my main site, which has 100 times more visitors...

Could it be that the connection isn't closing or something? Or something with timeout?

That could definitely be the problem. It may be opening connects and letting the connections sleep and maxing out your mysql connections real fast.

I see it happen all the time unfortunately.

Our support team can add a setting to your mysql config that will close sleeping connections after 30 seconds though. If that is indeed the problem and will make all that go away

Yes I see a lot of connections in sleep for a long time... so that 30 second thing would be great.

This is caused by not closing the connection in my scripts, right? I'll try to clean up my code, but I'd like to keep that 30 second thing anyways, just to be sure...

So, can you take care of it, or do I have to send a support ticket?

Thanks for your help!

Definitely has to be something that you send to support. We can't make modifications like that without official consent from the owner

If you submit the ticket go ahead and post the ticket ID here or PM it to me and I'll get it taken care of for you
