That would still give more room and greater flexibility than the Deluxe shared hosting plan.

If quite a few people want to get into this agreement then people will want to form separate groups using different dedicated servers to make it feasible.

Ok, that is cool, well if Ehaanaes wants to split his costs I will go 25 and 25 with him? But if not, I'll go with the 13.50. But just let me know. Thanks.

Waiting for people to confirm...

Yes. I agree. I think that we're about ready to go with this. We are still waiting for a couple of others to confirm.

Seems like there gets so i can`t cover the whole 50%.. The deal i had worked out with a friend of mine got blewn... I have to look some more into this.. And i still want to know what surpasshosting.com thinks of this... (Like will they do transfers of accounts and such??? ANd i do want a minimum of people on the server.. Plus... As i said earlier... We can`t just let evryone have SSH-Access and such.. That would probably cause reboots now and then and maybe some crashing of the server if evryone plays around there.. Do anyone have a suggestion on how we have to do it with Shell-access????
And... I heard some rumours about a sale on dedi-servers here somewhere... Is it gonna be one?????
I will come back with details on how much i can pay/month by friday.. I am trying to work out something with a friend of mine.. Programming something for him.. If that works out i will be able to cover 50%....

But still.. I want teq`s opinion!

I have the same questions as Ehaanaes, also as far as the SSH goes. I think if we just limit the access to the root account we can solve that problem. There are very few things that require the root account. So if we all can come to an agreement on either to keep root only for emergencies and program installs (which shouldnt be too many), and just use a shell account to do your business on the host, also we can put into the written agreement a policy regurding the SSH access, such as anyone responsible for taking down the host will be dispatched imediately by trained assassins (just kidding), no seriously abuse of the root account will be cause for termination from the deal. (abuse will either be definedby us or Surpass). Anywho that was just my 2cents on the issue. As far as Ehaanaes if you can fork up 50% I can pick up what you can't (up to 30%). Thats all I have at the moment. (it's stil learly)

I would be quite comfortable with one or two people being in charge of the root account with everyone else using shell accounts. Any installs, etc. that would require this kind of access could be discussed amongst the partners within our own bulletin board. If the install wouldn't cause disruption, the partner(s) with root access can perform the install.

What do you think?

That is basically what i was thinking also. I think this deal would work because if someone is clearly paying 50% then we have a clear choice on who gets it.

Status?

Hey all,
Was just wondering about a status from everyone involved in this? I havent heard anything in a while and I wanted to make sure that this was still in the works. Or have you all started discussing this privately?
