Strange DNS problem on my dedi.
Hello,
I submitted a support ticket, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try here, too. I'm having a strange DNS problem with my dedi. I was setting up an account for one of my domains (carryingforks.com) and made the mistake of creating the account under the domain "www.carryingforks.com" instead of just "carryingforks.com". Now, whenever I terminate and then rebuild the account, typing "http://carryingforks.com" will not bring me to my site. Using the "www" in the address works though. I have my DNS servers on my router here set to my nameservers so I can see changes immediately. Before I recreate the account, I deleted the DNS zone and performed a DNS cleanup. I'd like to know how I can fix it myself so if I make this stupid error again I don't have to contact support to fix it again (and waste their time because of my mistakes ).Any suggestions? Thanks! Stupid me, wasting everyone's time again...I thought I'd covered it all but typical of me there was something I'd forgotten.
I power cycled my router, and did ipconfig /flushdns, /release, and /renew commands. All better now. .frankiejr |
