So this is what I did...
I decided that before I purchase a quality server from surpass, i'd like to play around in linux, that wya I don't spend time learning it when I could be using it. So I set up a small server on my home network, running linux, and i've set up apache, but i can't seem to set up the FTP server. Anyone got any pointers? Im using vsFTPd, but can also install pure-ftpd if preferred.

Well, i'm not quite sure the way Pure-FTPd works, but I installed vsFTPd and my problem is that I can't figure out how to create user accounts that actually work. On top of that, how do I set proper directory hierarchies? Permissions? I'd like to learn this stuff before spendin money on a server
