A question of APT or and APT Question ... eh?

I posted this to tech support but kinda thought I would post here to get some answer from the mob. I am refering to the APT part of the post but also would love to know what the deal is with Whmautopilot

I need to have Zend Optimizer installed and Curl compiled into the php.
Addtionally I would like to have MyODBC -- for some reason one of the Interact Ecommerce things won't work withot it and a potential client is making it a deal breaker. I could install this myself with apt but am afraid it will break or disrupt the WHM/cpanel -- i've heard various stories and to tell the truth I've used cpanel and apt together before but there were strange things that happend her and there.
FYI I want to get WHMautopiliot and don't know if you install that. If so .. well I'l like. but Im guessing I have to do it...

alos if there is anything else I'm missing to have WHMAutopilot or whoiscart installed please do that if you can.. I havent looked carefully at the reqs but will

Assuming they set up dedicated boxes like they do the shared/reseller boxes, you should have everything you need for AP or whoiscart. As for AP, you can either lease or purchase the license. They (Surpass) will install it for you for a nominal fee ($20?) if you want them to.

As for apt, they use Red Hat. So, unless they have installed apt4rpm, my guess is you'd have better luck using rpm.

I know I'm not helping much, but I don't have a dedicated server, so I'm only giving it best guess. Hope it at least helped a little.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.
