Root and file size limit exceeded

Length: unspecified [application/x-tar]

[ <=> ] 2,147,472,386 476.92K/s File size limit exceeded

The message I get when I try and download a file thats over the above size when logged in to root from the server. I've submitted a ticket and was told it'd be flagged for an admin. Unfortunately, the person thats waiting on me to get his site backup restored on to my server doesn't seem to want to wait for admin.

Is there anyway we can change this rule for us since we're root? I'm trying to download the guy's backup file using wget. The file size is something over 4gb. We've been seriously working on this issue since early this morning. Now its 8:25pm here at my place.

Sorry to "submit a ticket" and then post the issue in the forums, but I seriously don't have the time to wait any longer.

how?

I'd have to do that on the old server I'm guessing. But then since cpanel is reporting that he's 7gigs over on his account, i doubt that would be able to work. I couldn't even create a folder without receiving the message, "storage space exceeded." Downloading 4 gigs on my cable connection would take forever...then uploading it would take forever times 2. Has to be some solution. Just IM'd support, maybe they can do something. I guess admin isn't open at the moment, via help desk. I seriously can't wait until tomorrow, I guess unless I absolutely have to. I seriously doubt the guy thats requesting this will wait though.

figured out an alternative

Well i figured out an alternative i think.

secure copy (remote file copy program)

Code:
scp your2gb_file.tar.gz username@MacOSX_IPorHost:/whatevery/you/want
So if any of you are ever in this predicament, here's a solution.

man scp
