Different Languages in cPanel : A How-To
Recently, cPanel added a new feature to allow end users to choose the language they wish to use in cPanel in themes that support it.
This is all well and good, but cPanel only comes with English languages files. Well, we've got you covered! Here's what you need to do: 1) Make sure your users are using a LANGUAGE AWARE CPANEL THEME (Xskin, Monsoon, etc. -- Sorry, I don't think KPANEL will work). 2) Download this file: http://surpasshosting.com/content/languages.zip 3) Decompress it using Winzip or whatever you prefer. You should now have: catalan.asc dutch.asc french.asc german.asc polish.asc portugues.asc portuguese.asc romanian.asc russian.asc spanish.asc swedish.asc turkish.asc 4) Log into WHM and click on the Upload a Language File under the LANGUAGE section. 5) Upload each .asc language file one at a time. 6) Now click on Additional Language Config. To see how I figured them out: http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/IG/ert/iso639.htm 7) Now click on Feature Manager under the PACKAGES section. Click Edit Feature List: Default and click the Change Language entry so that it is checked. If you've created other Feature Lists, then edit them as well. That's it. Go log into your CPANEL and try them out. You'll see a new icon that will allow you to select the default language. Not all languages may be 100% complete or correct and also it could take up to 24 hours for the user's web stats to appear in the correct language (the next time the stats get updated). We don't have any additional language files, sorry. You can create your own, however. Extra notes: 1. There's no way to remove language files from WHM once you install them... SSH to the rescue: The path the files are stored in is: /usr/local/cpanel/lang You can rm the files from there. 2. If you do not see "upload a language file" in your WHM just use a different WHM theme (not "x") and the link will be there, you can also just paste in the link to your browser if you have it saved without changing the WHM theme. -Courtesy of Aric |

Great feature with languages for cpanel. And thanks Teq for explaining how to add them.
One thing though, the Language links at LANGUAGE Section are disabled at some servers.(including Pass8) Don't know why, but maybe an update has to be done by the Admin's. (For all Swedish clients I can report that I've now translated the "swedish.asc" file - the one in the zip-file was not complete, just a few rows...)

Hum... I'm trying to change CPanel language. I changed my WHM theme and the "Upload a Language File" link is showed, but nothing happens when I click there.
![]() As psfrog said, I think it´s disabled at some servers. |

Hello Tigerlily. I ended up to ask the support to add my language file.
They did that very quickly. Grrrreat support ! ! They explained that the Add language fuction was disabled at WHM. I don't know why yet, but maybe Teq has an answer to that. :surpass:
