cpu load

Hi,

I been getting very low load times... So i check the load of the server and i got this

03:56:25 up 10 days, 12:53, 1 user, load average: 17.50, 11.34, 5.80


Whats going on?

Which server? you should have your server name and site link in your sig. Oops. You're a dedi.

what processes are running? do you have a backup script that runs at night? All logs are processed after 00:00 eastern standard time.

That's a broad question. Just no simple answer unfortunately. There are any number of things that could be causing this load. Your best bet is to email support[at]surpasshosting.com with your root password and explain the load issue. If possible, note the times it seems to occur, and as well, if you have installed any custom programs on your server, then mention them as well. We will look into it.
