Email Problems
I am having major email problems on a dedicated server. Email messages are not going out from the server, but I am receiving failure notices. Here's a sample:

Is this an effect of all your outgoing mails, or just one account/client/domain?

Thank you for your response. I have all failure notices from the site going to my personal email address (until I get this issue resolved). The messages are not getting to any address, but the failure notices are getting back to me. I have tested with the other accounts, and none of them are getting through. There are two domains, a primary and a domain which is parked on top of the primary. No emails are getting out to any address.
Thanks again! ![]() Last edited by Wendell; October 30th, 2004 at 12:45 PM. |

fwwebs5,
Yes. I am ifindlines[at]hotmail.com for MSN. However, I won't be online again for another hour or two, but I'll turn it on from now on so you can see me. Thanks! ![]() Emmanuel, The problem isn't from my actual email program, it's an email generated by the website, which should be sending to the admin of the site. A user fills out a form, and the results are supposed to be emailed to the admin. It was working flawlessly for quite awhile, and then suddenly quit working without having changed any settings. I have been going back and forth with support about this issue for over a week now and the responses (sometimes quick, other times taking a full day) always say something similar to, "we have checked your email accounts and tested them and everything works fine." This is great, but they conveniently skip right over most of my questions and don't respond at all to any of the concerns pointed out in my emails. The ticket trail should give you a pretty good clue of my frustration in dealing with them, which is why I'm here, hoping some other users can help me fully. Thank you for your concern, if there's any more information I can give, please let me know. |

1. There is no DNS for ldt.ldtinc.com, so if the Mail Transfer Agent checks for validity of the address, it will cause a reject. 2. Mail Transfer Agents may be, and many times as a default, set so they will not accept mail from user nobody. You might resolve this by ensuring that your servers host name has a DNS A record and setting your script to us SMTP. |
