Minerva Status Thread
Got my dedi a day or 2 ago.
 Thought i might keep you all updated on what's happening. First of all. It's name is Minerva. http://minerva.case-spider.com (Not working yet but will as soon as i have moved the DNS. Will post under here.) It is a: Pentium 4 2.4GHz 512MB RAM RedHat 9.0 WHM/cPanel 08.11.2004 Signed up for the server. (REAL LATE) 09.11.2004 Got the Server. Didn't have the time to do anything with it 10.11.2004 Used Aric's guide on SSH Security to secure the SSH. (Installing APF/AD/BFD and the rest of the alphabet ) Used Aric's guide on APF, AD and BFD to secure the server even more (SSH and Security ) 11.11.2004 Starting the transfer of my sites and clients to the server. Serverload = 0.00  MRTG for it will be up in a while i hope. Pictures also.

Ehaanaes It sems that you really enjoy your own server
Well as you may know there is special feeling to have an own server it just feel very cool :OYou can se my little server info [at] http://sysinfo.demontech.net (The site is may slow no rush). Thats one of my reason i have my realsites on surpass. On my own server i only test things and have it a localfile server =)

Moved over quite a bit of accounts now. Going to install a Helpdesk-system for my hosting-site with e-mail piping and more later today. 00.15AM? here.

My ISP's DNS-servers are messing up. So i can't get more done on my sites tonight. But tomorrow/later today i will finish some things like Cerberus Helpdesk installation and stuff.

Moved over the biggest account from my old chrashed server. (Not surpass.. Evil stuff. lol) MANUALLY!! Had to change all permissions again and more to get it worked out. Even the MySQL-backups i had to do by hand...  Well. Works now at least. And still Load. 0.01 , 0.00 , 0.00 This server rocks my socks.

All the major sites moved over except one which needs to be re-installed. Server still acting perfect.. Think i have done a great deal here. (Of course. )When 1 month has gone by this thread goes out on WHT i think. Or at least a modified version of it. And if anyone objects to me posting this here please tell me and i will stop. Just thinking i can keep possible dedicated clients up to date of what to expect and such.

Not a complaint.. but you have the dates wrong. Novemember is the 11th month, and by looking at your dates, you're using 10, which is October. Wouldn't want someone to think you haven't posted in a month
Interesting tales though.. wish I had the need/money for a dedicated. |
