Buying Questions - Tell Me :)
Well, I currently am thinking about buying a reseller account with you all. I have a few questions that I would like to ask you all some important things that I need answered. Please, say anything to persuade me to go with your company, tell me what you can offer
. Also I would like to know why I should buy a domain from you, and not Yahoo? Why should I buy from you when I can buy from someone else? Please tell me everything possible about your company, to get me set on buying. I plan on making a site Outcast Comics, and needed hosting, so I came to you guys. I need a domain, so I have come to your company. Also, can you explain to me why the domains are higher in price then other companies? Would I be able to buy a domain from Yahoo and use it with your reseller? PLEASE tell me everything that you know about the domains and resellers, because I need security, security is what I need!-Outcast |

We try to offer the warm welcome to everyone.
Surpass does operation on the "good neighbor" policy, so make sure that what you want to run is not going to overburden a server. You, as a reseller, are responsible for the actions of YOUR customers...so make sure you give them the same 'talking to' that you get here - about being a good neighbor and responsible.... And welcome!

I don't use any IM programs... too distracting! But feel free to discuss over the boards or even email if you like.

Well I'm making a site somewhat like www.revivaleyes.com
Same type of site, and I need the same type of space. I'm doing all the work before it opens, and I got alot of content. Comics, Sprites, Avatars, MSN Display Pictures, Wallpapers, etc. I got 100mb space from an admin at the site I work at, but I'm not sure if that is enough space. What do you guys think? I need your approval. (sp?) |

If you get a reseller acct here, you won't run out of space, as you get a lot more than 100MB, regardless of the plan you choose. Not to mention, your site gets hosted for free. I would say YES, you need more than 100MB -- probably closer to 300MB if you have a ton of graphics... and then add on more space if you intend to deliver a lot of flash games. Bandwidth will be an issue with you if you deliver a lot of the flash games... so be careful about that, because a 1MB game can eat up your traffic like there's no tomorrow.
The best thing to do is to start small and watch your meters. If you feel you are in trouble with bandwidth, then you can upgrade to a larger plan at anytime in the future. The smart thing to do is to start small and build. I mean, let's face it -- you don't have anyone to bring to your site yet, so you won't likely eat up your bandwidth in the first month. But who knows? Anything can happen I suppose. A word of advice though -- if you design a site like that, make it friggin legible! That other site is the worst I have seen in a long time -- you can't even read his buttons nor his text because of the dark contrast colors. That is a poorly designed site in my opinion. ![]()
