OC10 question
I currently have a reseller account on D21 which, though (amazingly) stable for the past few weeks has had far too many problems in the last year through spammers etc.
I know I am coming up for renewal and am looking at the OC10, however, obvious questions arise, 1. would an OC10 account still be on D21 ie. same server but with changed limits? 2. if not on D21, how do you control the clear spamming problems? 3. are OC10 servers a separate entity? 4. is there space on OC10 servers as the forum recently had a user who bought an OC10 and had personal space but no reseller space Ideally, I would have liked to move to either a semi-dedicated or dedicated server but, when I asked about this, I was informed by sales that semi-dedicated were for single account use and not reseller..shame, I just need stability for myself and customers. As for dedicated, they are just a little too high in cost to make it viable, had the base cost included Cpanel etc. then that would be the chosen option, perhaps, some of the 'older' servers should be made available at lower costs for those who need them but do not need the massive processing power. Thanks, Neil. [adsessor.biz D21] |

I wouldn't mind knowing if OC5 was on the same server as shared too.

Yes, they are are on normal servers. However, when you purchase the plan, they will most likely move you to a new server, such as one of the newer SH* servers. That's what happened with me.

If I chose to, would I be able to change my plan but remain on the current server?

[edited]this part edited... keleigh made a boo boo[/edited] Resellers customers are located on reseller servers only, no reseller account is on a shared server nor is a shared account on a reseller server. It would be unwise to mix the two. (the servers are here.. http://www.surmunity.com/reseller-hosting-notices/) All spamming problems can be dealt with no matter what server you are on. Being a reseller on a server with many other customers is always risky especially when it comes to stability. If you are a serious reseller and require more stability, more space/bandwidth, a dedicated server is the way to go. Surpass has probably the lowest rates around for dedicated servers, so I wouldn't pass it up. I believe the reason for CPANEL having a monthly charge is 1)the cost of CPANEL and 2) the cost of the licenses to use CPANEL and place them on the server for you and your costumers to use.. It is not cheap. That's how things are as of now, however, Surpass may change things or consider new plans as necessary. hope that helped some..

Keleigh: I saw at least one part of that that's wrong. The OC plans (well, OC10 anyway) most definitely have reseller abilities.

LOL Keleigh...
Also - SOME resellers are on shared servers. This is simply because they 'upgraded' and didn't need to be moved at that time. Surpass support has been very good about moving people who need/want it - which is just one more thing that I like about this company. OC10 is a reseller plan - but you get extra because you're paid in full for a year in advance.
