Installing IPB - Page 3

You're not very likely to find a webhost that will take cash... And if you do, I wouldn't trust them not to disapear after taking your money. It's as easy as them claiming that the money never arrived.

exactly, plus you run the risk of that actually happening. atleast with a credit card you have protection against things like that. buying anything via the net, a catalog, or anything else that requires you to "send" payment with a cash only policy isn't going to extend very far.

I guess I'll have to use IPS' crappy hosting... Even if they had a CC they wouldn't give out the number.

no host in its right mind would give out CC numbers

and for what purpose are you going to use IPB? coz honestly if it's a totally new community I strongly suggest you find someone who will host you for free until your community grows.

In addition, if you are going to buy the license, then ask IPS to install it for you (as everybody said already) or ask someone here to install it for you. Just buy surpass first, then buy IPB 2.x, then anyone can install it for you for FREE. I for one can install it for you. I'm the Head Admin of a company community and forums (http://forums.mobius.ph) and owns 5 other IPB powered forums and hosting 3 other IPB forums for free.

finally, relax and have an open-mind. seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open, ask and it will be given :p gets my idea?

Actually IPS does take money... Go look: "Personal Checks or Money Orders"

The only host I've seen that takes cash is one that's located in my city. If they took paper money, it would a battle just checking for counterfeiters... Plus with the mail service being so slow, it could be a while before it gets delivered.

I have a friend who I was going to host who was going to pay me in cash, but that's the only time I've heard of such a thing.

Actually, here is a suggestion. Spend the money one one of those disposable Master Cards and use it.
