Questions bout reseller packages..

so...what im slightly lost with is how they work... say i make an account for someone then what happens about address...do they get client.mydomain.com or do they have to buy a domain of their own and point it at mydomin.com ... if they have to get there own domain will work like a roper domain does ie... not just a forward where the address bar always stays the same like on freedomains will it work properly...

what i want to do is buy a reseller account and put a site on that in the main area then i want to host 2 other sites and get domains for them but i dont want it to look like its all one server and just 3 domain...does this make sense? so want it to be like

mainsite.com with a site on it

2ndsite.com with another site on it so when you go on it you could go in 2ndsite.com/whatever.php and the address bar would change and not just stay as 2ndsite.com and so on for the othersite

so it would be just as if i had bought 3 shared hosting packages but cost me less?

sorry for repeating myself i just cant find an easy way of communicating my question

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi

With a reseller account you can create as many accounts as space allows and each account will function as a proper domain in its own right, with its own control panel, email accounts, disk space etc.

Exactly!

you can host a site on the main space (10GB webspace, 10GB transfer), for example mainsite.com

then you can make 2 client accounts and put them on your reseller space. You can choose what domain they have (a subdomain of your mainsite.com (2ndsite.mainsite.com, ...) or a completely new domain (2ndsite.com, ...).
There is no forwarding through a frame or something, they are 3 different sites, with 3 different domain names; the url in the address bar will change.

But, people can still see if the 3 domains are on the same server, if they ping to the domains, and compare the ip addresses.

yea the ping thing is no problem im not trying to hide the fact i just dont want it to be obvious... for instance when you go on someones website thats like www.ghoststories.tk and in the status bar it says loading...http://www.freewebs.com/ghoststories/index.html

thats what i want to avoid and it sounds like thats so...looks like im gonna have to order me some of that...how many sites you think i could fit in the basic package (3gb space, 30gb bandwidth) its all php and databases forums and custom built CMS...also how much is it if i want to add more space or bandwidth but not upgrade to the next package???

When you make a client account, there will be no occasion where they will see a URL like that in the status bar, unless of course they use their domain like dottk. If an account is made with the domain "somethingcool.com" that's what they'll see in both the address bar and the status bar.

How many sites depends on their size and popularity. If you have big popular sites, probably just a few. But if you have small, rarely visited sites, you can have a lot. I'm sure some will be big, some will be small -- same goes with the popularity.

I don't think you can upgrade your space, but I know you can purchase additional bandwidth. Someone else should be able to fill you in on the price.

Yep, you can upgrade bandwidth.

You can get domains from any domain seller or reseller and they'll look proper. Surpass Domains is definetly a good place to register.

And if you are going to be considering buying more bandwidth, you may also want to take a look at the OC10 plan and see how that stacks up with what you will have. The OC10 plan gives you 10 gigs of space and 200 gigs of bandwidth just to resell. Pretty nifty. The price is expencive but you are only paying once each year, break that down and its almost nothing each month for what you get
