How long does it take for an account to get setup (with the domain registered at a different location)?

It depends on what you get I think but my account [shared] was set up straight away, just had to wait for dns to change

Your account will be set up within 24 hours usually (they had to take instant activation off because of fraud) and then it can take up to 24-72 hours for your domain to propogate to Surpass once you change the DNS at your registar.

It has changed now, all sign-up are manually authorised to stop abuse. It should be set-up asap.

Oh really, I just wanted to know cuz my old host had it all up within 10 minutes. I already knew it took about 2 days for the DNS.

Considering it is 1 in the morning on a sunday where the data center is, and sales/billing work regular hours of 9-5 on monday to friday, that is why I say give them 24 hours. As Ancyru and I have said, Surpass had to take off auto-activation because of fraud and abuse. That means a staff member must confirm each new registration. You very well might be set up in a few minutes, but it all depends on what time you register at and how many other people are needing activation at the same time.
