Thank you Cyndy. Before I even posted I could tell that this board was like a big, helpful family, which I think is great.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked my site.

Can't really say but it was just that one site that they went after, maybe it had to do with questionable stuff.

Did you get a responce from anyone yet?

No, not yet. I'm not in a rush though so I will be patient.

Vanilla, there's no problem with hosting your site. If anyone were to email us requesting something to be removed, such as a song, we would contact you about it first. If you haven't had such an experience before, then there definitely isn't anything to worry about.

I stream the real audios and I have a no right click script in place on the sound pages but there are ways around it. I have tried to keep people from downloading them though.

Well, I appreciate the opinions! Thank you.

That still doesn't matter. Streaming or not, it's still distribution. You can still get yourself in trouble for doing it. It's best to get permission to use it first.

Has anyone tried making a brownie pie?

I do understand that. Honest! What I meant was that I have tried to prevent people from downloading it by streaming it, etc., as Rai wondered whether I have it so people can't download the music.

I know that this doesn't matter all that much but I've met one of the actors from the series, who also wrote songs for the show. I've been in contact with another writer of songs. I've had producers/directors/show writers and other actors contact me. All of which have been pleased with my site. I've even talked on the phone and met in person the creator of the musical and the movie and he's given me permission for the content in the musical section (though he doesn't own the rights to the movie anymore).

I've never wanted to break the law by having a fan site, I created it for fun. And I would remove something if someone asked.

-----------

Kayla,
Thanks! That's basically what I needed to know. I would remove something if it were a problem. I just wanted to be sure I'd be given a chance to and not just have my site suspended without an opportunity to make things right.

It's good that you have their permission. I just didn't want you to end up getting in trouble for the streaming...RIAA reps love to kill for anything. They even sue the dead, who never owned computers. I can't find the article that has how she didn't even own one.
