Hello -

I am currently a customer of surpass hosting and would like to buy an additional account to run a web shop for a client of mine.

The webshop will be very minimal and will not produce much traffic.

Can I host the webshop using the basic shared account, or do I need a different account to have SSL and other support needed for a webshop.

I will most likely use Catalog for the shop.

Hello. You should be able to run a web shop on a shared server. The only time you couldn't is if it was eating too much of the servers resources.

If you need SSL, you can get purchase an addon for your shared account. You can find that here http://www.surpasshosting.com/addon.php

I'm not sure whether it includes a dedicated IP or not. Maybe someone knows and can reply here.

The SSL for shared accounts are $115 which includes the SSL certificate for one year, a year of a dedicated IP address, and installation by Surpass Hosting.

BTW, The link you gave to the addons order form is not active at the moment because of some re-editing needed from some switching of programs so the best way to purchase and addon or anything else would be via http://desk.surpasshosting.com and just designate the "Sales Department" on the support ticket. Remember sales support work basic 9-5 hours local to Surpass (Eastern Standard Time)
