Account Setup

Greetings Folks

After signing up how long does it take for the account to be setup ?

It's usually pretty quick - about a day or so. Lately, the admins have been busy with the new datacenter (DC2 (Data Center 2) Opening Announcement) so it might take just a little longer.

Yep. You get charged first and then they set up the account.

For what it's worth, the delayed account setup is to keep spammers and scammers from signing up. Activation used to be instant, but lots of spam and fake bank sites (phish attempts) signed up and started abusing the service.

Security is a good thing, even if you have to wait a little for your account. It was worth it for me.

oh I agree with that idea... however when a new account for a current user then I think it's not a good idea.

They don't have a way to verify that it's a current user. Besides, good apples go bad sometimes... it's always a good idea to check.
