I don't want to use surpass' dns-servers

Hi,

I already have a nameserver-account with dyndns.org and I would like to keep it that way. Is it possible to have a hosting-account (oc-5 for example) with surpass without using surpass' dns-servers? I.e. I would just configure an A or CNAME record with dyndns.org that points www.mydomain.com to some server at surpass.

/Mattias

Okay all of that is German to me, so no idea...but did you know you could purchase custom nameservers from Surpass?

I'm not interested in purchasing a custom nameserver. I have paid-for-life account with dyndns ($10 if I remember correctly, they have stopped offering these now...) and I have a number of other hosts on that domain, some of them with dynamic IPs, some with static IPs. I only want a webserver.

Yeah, you can easily do that. All you have to do is create new A records every time you make a new subdomain. ceo must have been confused; there's nothing extra you need to buy from Surpass to make this happen.

When you set up your account, just ignore their spiel about changing NS. When you get your details, make A records for www.*, ftp.*, mail.* for the IP that they give you in the email. That should do it.

No problem. Feel free to post here if you need help.. I've done this DNS thing before - shouldn't be a problem.
