Surpass uses php and mysql, so if the script can run on that, it should work. It would just depend on the script itself. Asking on specific scripts first might be easier to answer.

Thank you david, that was currently me posting under that username, the feedback to these forums are amazing!
Well I personally am not sure as to the meaning of these as a friend is helping me, but what do these enable me to do (as in, have the possibility of)? If i wanted to set up an e-commerce type store, i hear that mysql would allow me to do so? |

No problem.
![]() Surpasshosting gives you Fantastico with your account. It comes with many scripts already loaded up (some aren't quite up to date yet, but that's the fault of the Fantastico people, who are working on getting them updated). One of those scripts it has is OSCommerce. You can download this yourself and install it, or use Fantastico to install it. It's a whole store front, ready to use right out of the box. MySql is just the database end. Software tends to use it to save records of things like users, posts for message boards, and other various dynamic data. Or...anything entered into a form, usually goes into the database (unless they use flat files, which none of these in Fantastico do, other than Gallery...atleast that's the only one I know of). |
