Emmanuel, would you mind telling how much bandwidth the average shared server in one of your DCs puts out per month? Not per account, just actual server bandwidth. If you don't want to disclose that, then it's fine. I'm just kind of curious...

I'm curious about this cluster thing. Say I decided to put Sidebreak on one (because with our 4 regular users, we will obviously need it). It runs off of coppermine and Invision board. What exactly would I be doing to the site? It doesn't sound like a simple task. Say I had 4 in the cluster. What exactly would I have to do to the site to make it work? Would I have to put the site on all 4 servers? Would I have to change the code?

mind you that you need to use one of these servers below with 16GB of ram ( 1gb per slot) and several scsi drives. This Sun server can handle it http://www.sun.com/servers/entry/v440/index.xml amd http://www.sun.com/servers/entry/v40z/specs.jsp This IBM server can handle it http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserve..._9124720g.html or order the parts yourself http://www.tyan.com/products/html/thunderk8qw.html I recommand the IBM, the Power5 chips are used in mainframes and each chip has 36mb of cache on it. Which far exceeds what Intel can make. |
